Preventing Baldness
Alopecia is the term that means a thinning or loss of the hair. It can happen as a result of illness, stress or genetics. If a person is diagnosed with alopecia they generally will seek some kind of treatment for it.
Because genetics can play a role in baldness, if baldness runs in your family, then you are probably going to be bald also. So you might want to learn as much as possible about how baldness can be prevented. There are lots of things people do to try and prevent hair loss.
One way to help prevent hair loss is to begin living a healthy lifestyle. There are many bad habits that people have that can contribute to becoming bald. Things like smoking or poor eating habits are just a couple.
People trying to prevent balding are often told by nutritionists to start eating better. Healthier eating may not sound like a welcome choice. However, it’s an easy thing to start.
You will be told to start eating more fresh fruits and fresh vegetables. Eating these foods can have a great effect on you health. You will probably also be told to eat more protein and foods that are rich in fiber.
The following foods are those that are usually recommended by nutritionists to add to your diet:
* spinach
* flaxseed
* carrots
* avocados
* nuts
* seeds
* soy beans
* olive oil
* turnips
* cabbage
* pine nuts
It’s easier if you start out by just placing two or three kinds of food at a time from your former diet. Try eliminating some of the foods from the following list and replace them with foods from the list above:
* chips
* sodas
* candy
* salt
* processed meat
* dairy products
* fatty meats
Besides eating a better diet, try looking for topical treatments that may prevent baldness.
However, it’s important to stick with whatever treatment you decide on for a reasonable length of time. If it doesn’t appear to be working after you’ve given it a reasonable time, then think about switching to a different product.
