Baldness Treatment
Baldness is a frequent occurrence in males and in females. It also occurs in children, although it is rather rare. Here is some information that may be useful to you about baldness treatment and baldness.
In order to determine whether you suffer from hair loss, then it’s important for you to get an opinion from a professional. You need to get a diagnosis before you start trying to treat a condition. If you don’t know what the problem is then how do you know how or what to treat?
There are several ways baldness can happen. Probably the most common kind of hair loss causes a hair loss somewhere on the scalp. There is another kind of baldness that results in hair loss on other areas of the body.
Alopecia is the most common kind of hair loss. More specifically, there are three kinds of alopecia:
* Alopecia areata (this is characterized by a patchy hair loss)
* Alopecia totalis (this is a complete loss of hair
* Alopecia universalis (this is hair loss on the body, as well as the scalp)
When your physician gives you a diagnosis as to the kind of baldness you have, then you will have a better idea about the kind of treatment you should use. Different types of treatments are used for the different kinds of hair loss.
Once the dermatologist diagnoses the kind of baldness you have, then it’s time to discuss the various hair loss treatment options with him. You’ll find that there are essentially four types of treatments that are used for hair loss:
* Medications that require a prescription
* Scalp injections of medication
* Topical preparations (hair creams or foams, shampoos, etc)
* Electronic scalp stimulation
Each one of these treatments for baldness are very different. And they each require a different level of involvement. As an example, if you use a prescription medication, you will only need to make an occasional trip to your pharmacy to fill the prescription. On the other hand, if your diagnosis requires that you undergo electronic stimulation of the scalp, then you will probably need to make frequent trips to your physician’s office.
Just like with any illness, it is important that you consult your doctor to find out what the best treatment will be for your type of hair loss. And if you decide not to get information from you doctor, then you should also be aware that there are some natural treatments that might help with your hair loss.
